According to the 1990 Census, more Americans claim some degree of German "ancestry or ethnic origin" than any other: 57.9 million or 23.3%. Over 300 years, 8 million Germans have created lives for themselves and their families in the United States, enriching its history and development.
We recognize that researching your German family heritage is not an easy task, and so as new sources of information appear on the Internet, we will make them accessible here in one of our sections. We've also gathered together a team of seasoned genealogists who regularly contribute articles to our site.
This site was created in 1998, and has grown to over 100 pages of genealogical information, from basic surname classified ads to a variety of surname indexes of German historical documents and cultural events in Germany. And, we add more information on researching your family tree each and every month!
I am extremely proud to announce that this German genealogy site was awarded the Best of the Net award from the Mining Co. in January 1999. This was their first award for genealogy sites, and I am honored that they selected D'Addezio.com for such a distinction.
Don't miss out on any of the new features. Remember to sign up for our monthly newsletter. It's full of all the new and exciting information about German family research we've collected. Best of all, it is all FREE, and always will be.
