Social Security

Searching the Social Security Death Index

The Death Master File (DMF) from the Social Security Administration (SSA) currently contains over 61 million records. The current update reflects an increase of over a million names. It reflects the latest information provided by the SSA as of December 1999.

Ancestry Global Search is a genealogical search engine that searches all of the databases included in the Ancestry.com Library. Ancestry.com adds at least one new database daily to its library, which is home to over 100 million genealogical records. Ancestry Global Search searches all of these genealogical records and displays results from relevant databases.
